If you’re a writer, then you know that the process of putting your thoughts onto paper (or screen) isn’t always easy. Thankfully, there are tools out there that can make the task a little bit easier – and one of our favorites is Scrivener.

Microsoft Word and Google Docs are designed for everybody – from kids doing homework to bankers writing reports. They’re not designed with authors in mind, but Scrivener is.

It works as a desktop application that helps you organize your thoughts, research, and writing. It’s great for long pieces of writing, like novels, because it lets you break your project down into smaller chunks. You can also easily track your progress, and make changes to your work without having to worry about losing anything.
