To achieve this you need to 1) have vehicles that will deliver the reporter gene very specifically (this includes not only cellular compartments but also ability to switch it on and off), 2) know exactly what neurons you need to target and how long and 3) be able to activate the system non-invasively. Also, human behavior is far less hardwired than its mouse counterpart. We are several centuries away from such an application even in its crude version.
